There was hardly anyone there when I came in to see what they had. The girls that work there are very patient and they will answer all your questions. I must have gone through every single book they had. I ordered a rum cake for 14 people, Cake was great. I chose a beach scene and it came out really nice. The birthday girl loved it. Hard to find a good cake anywhere but this one is a winner. A bit pricey but worth the money. Lots to choose from.

I went to Cake Designs by Edda to get my wedding cake. The service was very professional. I had no issues with the cake or with customer service. They delivered the cake to the reception on time and in perfect conditions. I chose amaretto and chocolate flavors and it was delicious.

Guava cupcakes are amazing! Cookies and cream, red velvet, and chocolate are delicious as well. They also have carrot cake and dulce de leche that I can't wait to try. 21 dollars for a dozen, the taste is def worth it.

I will never recommend this place to anyone. I went with them b/c the hotel I was having my wedding at uses them. I personally did not like the taste. Was more like dry bread than cake. To try and make up for that I paid EXTRA for a strawberry filling. When I got the cake guess what was missing....the filling. Which was upsetting, esp since it was incredibly dry. When I called to tell them about what happened, I was expecting an apology and for them to try and correct the problem. They did neither. They were incredibly rude and then told me i couldnt prove it! I guess they forgot I had the anniversary cake still. Some girl then said the manager would call me back to settle it. I never received a call back. I called back again myself and spoke with the manager, she too had the same bad attitude, but then agreed to refund my money back to my credit card. She said it would take a few days but she would. 3 weeks later and nothing. I didnt bother call back because I dont have time to waste fighting with these unethical ppl. What I can do though is warn anyone not to go there. The entire staff has crappy attitudes, to go along with there crappy cake. What kind of company doesnt stand behind there own work and there OWN MISTAKES!!!! Dont go. Esp if for a wedding, you already have enough to worry about.

I ordered a cake for a small birthday dinner. I have to start by saying the cake was absolutely delicious, however the size that I was supposed to received wasn't exact and the customer service there is very poor. I find them overpriced as well. I ordered the cake over the phone while emailing them all the details, pictures and everything. I had to then make several phone calls to get a confirmation via email since I wasn't going to drive from palm beach to pemproke pines just to pick up a receipt. This is 2015, they need to get up to date with technology. They also quoted me a price and when I was ready to order, they try to raise the price on me. Very unprofessional. So the cake I ordered was supposed to serve 20 people. I had a dinner with 14 and the cake couldn't be served to everyone. They had the cake so small on two separate platform, so technically I only got the fondant in the design instead of cakes. I try to reach out to them to express how disappointed I was, to pay $150 for a cake and couldn't serve 14 guests, how ridiculous..... They never attempt to call me nor return my email to offer any remedy. So if you are willing to pay a high tag for a delicious cake and able to tolerate the lack of professionalism, then you have find your place. So 4 stars for cake taste 1 star for customer service.

The cake I received from Eddas was done with very little effort. As professional bakers you would expect them to take their time and be artistic. The sign for the cake was not even the same colors the cake. You tell them one color and the cake ends up being another. Then they write happy birthday in chicken scratch. The fondant not sealed together smoothly. This is ridiculous for the price your paying for the cake. You would expect a lot more from professional cake makers but lack of effort is all they have to offer

Very dry cakes. There are plenty of other places that make better cakes and are priced more reasonable.

Edda has the best cake in South Florida hands down!!! They are on the pricey side but so worth every pennie. They did my 360 people wedding cake taller than myself which I loved loved loved and everyone had nothing but amazing things to say about it. Their signature vanilla rum flavor is to die for. I've used them for engagement parties, birthday parties, baptism, and they deliver consistently every single time so I'm surprised with the negative reviews. They were able to pull off an amazing wedding cake for my best friend in 3 business days on Thanksgiving Weekend! , and solved a crisis after her baker fell through. It can get busy sometimes if you go a weekend. There will be a line but it's because their cake is that good!

This bakery made my wedding cake 8 years ago. It just so happened that the location that I chose to have my wedding, had Cake Designs by Edda listed as their best place to get your wedding cake. The cake was gorgeous and delicious. Well, yesterday I went to a birthday party and low and behold, the first bite of the birthday cake, and I recognized the vanilla rum flavor! Brought back beautiful memories of my wedding day! I love this place! The cakes are latin style so they are slightly moist with the rum flavor (or whatever flavor you choose) and very tasty! As a matter of fact, I am having a bday next month. Gonna order my bday cake from here! Yay!

The cakes look beautiful but they taste okay. Most of the designs you do they could recreate them but it is definitely OVERPRICED. I went to order a cake for my daughters quince and it was $7 a slice! For cake! The service is horrible! I came in and it took about 30 minutes to get help and when I finally got help the girl in the front had the worst attitude.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE PEMBROKE PINES STORE ONLY While their cakes NEVER disappoint their customer service is absolutely horrific! Came in to pick up two cakes - spending well over $60 and the girl at the store front was not accommodating at all. She gave attitude and was not flexible even though we're the customer and we're purchasing services from her employer - who pays her due to what us - the consumer - spends. Needless to say that with employees like that Cake Design by Edda will likely start to lose or have already lost customers. Maybe they shouldn't have spread out so much through out South Florida? Or just hire nicer employees that are there to "service" the customer. Sad thing is that we might not be the only ones being treated this way... 4 Stars for Taste 1 Star for Customer Service

I checked this out originally back in August and I've been back a few times because the cakes are amazing and staff are super friendly. The Vanilla Rum Bundt Cakes are ridiculously good. They're perfectly packaged for travel and I love that the glaze is in a separate container so you have the choice of glazing or not. They also offer Rum Chocolate and Rum Guava. I've heard the Guava is particularly good but I'm too chicken to try it. We also had some cupcakes and cookie cakes that were simply scrumptious. My mom is always harassing me to send her a cake. Luckily for me I can easily order it off their website and have it shipped directly to her. The location is a bit out of the way in South West Ranches but it's definitely worth the drive.

I wish there would be LESS stars to give. Grant it, Cake Designs is one of the most famous cake places in Miami. Grant it, it's the most delicious taste ever. Grant it, they'll make anything you want as long as your pocket is able to afford it BUT, and this is a BIG BUT!! their service is horrible, no matter which of their locations you visit. At least, unfortunately, that has been my experience. I called yesterday about 2pm to order a small cake to be picked up between 530pm and 6pm. The girl took my order and said it would be ready by 5:30pm even if hubby gets there a bit later. I had guests over for dinner and we were celebrating one of the ladies' birthday a few days early. Imagine my surprise and my "mood" when hubby calls me from the store and tells me that there is NO ORDER!!! I was like WTF!!! WTF!!! WTF!!! pardon my language but I was furious. She went as far as saying she could get him one ready in a bit. I told him to forget it, we'll just have to do without. If she didn't care to place the order when I called earlier, why in the world would I care to wait for her? TERRIBLE SERVICE AT CAKE DESIGNS BY EDDA IN PEMBROKE PINES!!! Obviously, they don't need the business and they don't care for an unhappy customer.

3 years ago I got a guava bundt cake from Edda's as a present. It was delicious. In fact I am very picky about any sweets I eat since I do not have a sweet tooth, but this guava bundt cake was out of this world. I loved it so much I ordered it for friends and family as a gift and they also loved it. Now, in 2012, I decided to order the guava bundt cake for Thanksgiving. First of all the website asks you your desired date of arrival, so I put down Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. The cake arrived a week early. I called the company and I got the run around. They have TERRIBLE customer service, and people with no telephone manners whatsoever answering the phone. They told me that if the cake had not been opened, I could place it in the freezer and defrost it the day before. No problem (I thought as I have frozen other cakes before) The problem was not the freshness but the flavor. When I finally had the cake on Thanksgiving day, it hardly had any guava flavor at all. This cake was brown. The guava cake I remember was reddish. It tasted like flour with sugar. I was so disappointed that I had another slice the night after, thinking that I was too full the day before to taste the goodness. Needless to say the cake was mediocre to say the least. Never again will I buy this cake again. I am terribly disappointed and I doubt if Edda owns this part of the company anymore, as during my dealings on the phone with them I talked to "the owner" who happened to be a man. Sorry but they are only getting a one star.

I have to admit I am surprised to see negative reviews of this place because I have been using them for years and I've never had a bad experience. I order cakes from Edda's for almost every occasion and they are always delicious and beautfiully decorated. The staff has always been helpful and polite and even help you come up with ideas when you are not quite sure how you want your cake decorated. Although they are mostly known for their rum cakes, my favorite thing about Edda's is their guava cake!!!!! If you are a guava fan, you MUST try this!!!! And if you don't need a whole cake, they have been kind enough to make guava cupcakes now, along with cupcakes of all their other delicious flavors. If I had to find one negative it is that sometimes you have to wait in line for a while because they are busy, but that's the price you pay for great cake!

This is my go to place for birthday cakes and just because I feel like cake. They can really do just about any design you want or are willing to pay for. They always have cakes ready made to pick up last minute with 5-10 simple designs available. My newest discovery there is that they now have cupcakes and flavored pound cakes. The cupcakes come in red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, dulce de leche, oreo, guava, and carrot. They only cost $2 and they are regular size cupcakes. Sweet and moist but not over kill. I surprised my friend who just moved down from NY and is used to the famous cupcake bakeries and she loved them. Not sure if they have cupcakes at their other locations.
